Ben Shoveller

Ben is a recent addition to the Niagara region, having fallen in love with the area on frequent trips with his wife. It began years ago with a surprise birthday trip, and after checking off the typical touristy attractions, they started exploring the local spots. Learning more about the neighborhoods of St Catharines, the streets of NOTL, and the sprawling farmlands on the bench was what eventually made their minds up to make the move permanently. He grew up in Guelph and began his real estate career there in 2015. After 3 years in the Guelph market, he took a break to focus on building a company with his family in the fundraising industry. Having built a successful online platform, with clients in the UK, the US, Canada, and Asia, he has returned to his original passion. He loves to talk about real estate, wine, travel, food, politics, and the Leafs. When he isn't showing houses or meeting with clients, you can find him on long walks with his dog.

Service Areas: Flamborough, Beamsville, St. Catharines, Niagara-on-the-Lake

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: My spare time is usually spent with my wife and my dog working around our recently purchased house or cooking ambitious dinners well outside of our skillset. When I'm not doing that you will find me at the hockey rink, or catching up loudly with friends, sharing good food, good wine, and lots of laughs.

Q: What or who has been the biggest influence in your life?
A: I have been lucky to have quite a few tremendous influences in my life, from my parents and extended family to my in-laws and my friends. But my wife is my biggest influence and motivator. We encourage and support each other, always helping the other succeed in more ways than we thought possible.

Q: Where is your favorite place to travel to and why?
A: France and Italy are where I have traveled to the most by far. The people, the cultures, the languages, and the food and wine of course!

Q: What kind of work did you do before real estate?
A: I started a company in the fundraising and not-for-profit industry with my family. It was wonderful to be able to contribute to a community that does so much good, and to do it with my family was incredibly special.

Q: What is your favorite quote?
A. "The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry." You never know what can happen, especially in a fast-moving market in real estate! So make sure you're always prepared for anything.
